Our Story

- Our coffee company started as a single origin coffee family farm back in the 1960’s in the north region of Nicaragua, by Isaias Lagos when he emigrated from Honduras.

- Up to 2000, the coffee of the farm was sold for NYSE prices to local brokers. Since then, under the new administration of Eng. Jorge Lagos (2nd generation), the green coffee of the farm started being sold to EEUU to our first direct customer in New York, and six years later the total production of the farm was completely sold in direct contracts with roasters in New York and Philadelphia.

- 2012: the company extended its area buying two more coffee farms, reaching the triple of its production and starting direct trade with roasters in Albuquerque, New Mexico, South Korea and Scandinavian Countries.

- 2013: the company took the step to start our first coffee shop and roasting company, in which we have become leaders in the northern area of the country.

- 2015: the group started buying coffee from neighbor’s farms and regions; today they are our partners’ origin farms and suppliers.

- 2017: our own exporting company was founded, and currently, it is the one that conglomerates all the coffee chain of our companies.

e. Single origin coffee farms

Our group of farms is focused on producing high quality coffees in any process (washed, honey and natural), with positive impacts in our workers’ lifestyle and the preservation of the environment.

Social Projects

The company knew from the beginning, that paying an extra price of what national laws requires to our workers, was not enough to change their lives. That is when one of our most important customers and allies, Think Coffee, LLC, based in New York, proposed us to establish social and environmental projects together to help the communities around the farm and our workers’s communities each year.

We started developing the project together in 2016; we identified the timber industry was devastating our forests and causing lack of rain, high temperatures, and loss of water levels in the aquifers. that when we established a budget to plant 2000 native pine trees in areas near the farm we knew were more vulnerable because of this industry impact.

In 2017, we decided to change the beneficiaries and create a more direct positive impact on people. That is when visiting our workers’ communities we identified a big need for them: their homes. We selected the first 20 families that will be benefited in that first year, to rebuilt and repair their houses; we could not be happier with the results and our workers think the same. Following that result, we decided to increase the numbers of the beneficiary families in 2018.
